Pushing his trolley through the crowds on the platform was a skill in itself. 'They should teach this as a lesson at school,' he thought, trying not to crash into anyone or get injured, himself. The last thing he needed was to accidentally kill someone's toad or something before his first day back. His friends would never let him live it down. Already a good six foot and one inch in height, Roux stood on his tiptoes, trying to keep an eye on the far end of his trolley as he meandered his way through to the train doors.
"I'll take that for you," a young man swept up and grabbed a hold of the trolley handle, startling Roux a little. He gave the man a quick once over, and decided to let him take his precious things. It seemed to be what everyone else was doing, anyway. With a nod and a smile, Roux whipped Akaia's cage off the top of the trolley and allowed the man to wheel it away.
"You can stay with me," he murmured to the worried owl, once again poking his fingers through the bars to stroke the great bird. Akaia gave a soft hoot and fluttered her wings in agreement, and Roux chuckled. "Let's go find a nice quiet seat inside."
Hopping onto the train, he began the arduous task of finding a relatively empty compartment. Not that he didn't want to sit with any one, or was particularly anti-social. Roux just liked to be able to relax and take a few moments to calm his thoughts in such bustling crowds. Plus, it would be necessary for Akaia. He didn't want the poor owl to end up ill with stress. Popping his head in to compartment after compartment, he offered polite smiles at people he recognized, bowing out again before he could get himself entangled in any conversation. The temptation was great, but after almost a full five minutes, he opened a door near the middle of the train to find nobody behind it. Excellent.
"Here we go," he cooed, setting Akaia's cage down on one of the seats and pulling his deep red hoodie off. The backpack that had been hanging from one shoulder the whole time was dropped to the floor, Roux pulling out a bottle of water before re-fastening it and shoving it into an overhead rack with his hoodie. He sat himself down in the window seat, pulling Akaia closer to him and diverting his attention to the crowds still swarming about on the platform. It would be good to get to the castle.
