The year, is 2021. Twenty four years after the demise of the dark wizard known as Lord Voldemort, terror no longer plagues the magical community. Life is unusually peaceful, for those who lived during the reign of evil, and young wizards and witches have nothing to fear but stories of monsters, and demons, made up by their parents to keep them in line.
Kingsley Shacklebolt, once appointed temporary Minister for Magic, held on to the position, being exceptionally successful in keeping the wizarding world running smoothly, and things are, in essence, as they always should have been.
A few exceptions remain - a reminder of the terrors that once threatened to rule. Hogwarts Castle, is one of these exceptions. Never quite the same after the Battle of Hogwarts, it is what you could call.... scarred. Rooms changed, portions of the castle rebuilt, altered, never quite capturing the same feel it once had. Professor McGonagall took the position of Headmistress on a permanent basis, and tries her best to bring the same values to the school that it had under the great Dumbledore's guidance. The students, however, tend not to notice the great change in the place, they're far to busy with more important matters....
The Potters, for example. Ah yes, who could forget the infamous Harry Potter, savior of the magical world? Not many, that's who. As it happens, though, it is Potter's children who have to suffer the attention thrust upon them by their fathers reputation. Whispering in the halls, rumours flying about, expectations, such high expectations from the children of the Boy who Lived, that for these three, life is not so simple after all. James, oh, James thrives in it. Attention-seeker as he is, he makes the most of his popularity. And little Lily, she scoffs at it, disowns the acclaim and thinks the whole thing highly ridiculous, And then there's Albus.... Well, with his father's looks, and his reserved nature, he suffers the most from it all, often feeling highly embarrassed, he shies away, and tends to be more of a loner than his siblings. Yes, life for the Potters is still not quite unburdened, but then, who really cares....? Life is good.
And, just like a phoenix rises again from the ashes, out of the fire, the magical world has reformed, stronger than ever. In a bid to demonstrate unity, a few of the main magical schools have developed a new transfer program, where students can choose to attend a prestigious magical school in another country for as long as they like, as the sponsorship seems to be ongoing without an end in sight. This sense of togetherness has proved to be a boost to the moral of wizarding folk all over the planet, and students from Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beaubatons are to thank for that, as the pioneers for this new venture. That is not to say though, that the newfound strength of the magical community will not be taken advantage of, for there are always those that are daring enough to turn such power into darkness...
