look at yourself, you need help,-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- YOU NEED LIFE [/font] Avery headed down to the school Quidditch pitch, a brand new set of quidditch balls for her new potential team to try out with. With it being her first year as head of Slytherin house, Avery had agreed to over-see the try-outs for the quidditch team, it was something she'd been looking forward to doing so that she could start bonding with her new house. she wanted to make Slytherin team the best they could be.
By the time Avery reached the pitch, she could see a crowd of people. Some on the grounds, ready to try out, and quite a few of her house in the stands, waiting to see who would make the cut and a couple of other players from other houses, ready to see what they were going to be up against. Avery wasn't worried about other teams seeing her house's try-outs, no one was perfect at try-outs what with nerves of people and friends watching and the pressure of having to be as good as they could be, but her team were going to get good, better than good, they were going to be the best team Hogwarts had ever seen.
Avery walked out onto the pitch and as she approached, she could hear most of the chatter subside. She used her wand to place dummies on brooms in the air, flying forward three meters, then back three. "Right." She called out to those in front of her on the pitch. "This is your one chance to impress me. If I'm not impressed, you're not making the team, is that clear?" Just because no one was perfect, didn't mean Avery wasn't going to act like a hard-ass and try and get them to really flaunt their full potentials. After a couple of mumbles and a few nods, Avery placed the chest she had levitated in front of her on the ground.
With a wave of her wand a clip board appeared and a quill, it hovered in front of Avery and she took a glance at it. With another wave of her wand, the clip board was gone. "McLaggen, Albert. Step forward." Avery had no idea if the guy that stepped forward was Albert McLaggen or not, she was no good at remembering faces but she assumed if this wasn't the guy, then the real one would cause a fuss. I want you to get up there and protect those three dummies from an in coming bludger. After a short while, I'll release the second bludger. At the end of ten minutes the bludgers will come to a halt and you are to return to the ground. It will be your job to protect yourself and your team. After three I'll release the first bludger so I'd get on up there if I were you." Ten minutes probably didn't seem a lot, and neither did one bludger, but ten minutes with two was going to cause quite a work out and she hoped McLaggen was up for the task.
"ONE." She started counting after giving Albert a chance to get into the air and ready as the dummies moved about at different times, but not too far from one another, all on the same half of the pitch. "TWO." Avery wondered if she was doing the right thing as the bludgers shook about in their restraints and the case was opened with her wand. "THREE." Avery released the first bludger into the air and watched in anticipation, ready to call the bludger off if it got too much for her first potential team member, and if they weren't, then she was going to be ready to release the second bludger.

I just want you to RP Albert's try out, the bludgers and when Avery releases the second bludger (probably best when Albert's doing well with just one) And if he starts loosing control of the situation then have Avery call the bludgers off. Try to keep the tryout as 'realistic' as possible. Any comments or questions, feel free to PM me to this account.

Albert had been stood on the green oval shaped pitch clad in green quidditch uniform. Of course he didn't know if he was going to be picked, but he was going to try his best at being the best. His father had been part of the gryffindor team, yes he only played in one game, and sucked badly but Albert wasn't going to live up to his father. He was going to take a new path a path that would put it to glory and not sadly distaste. He wanted to be the one who made the McLaggen name famous, not his stinking good for nothing father who became the only keeper to hit a buldger at his own seeker, plus it was his captain. It made him feel rather sickly at the thought.
His head of house was a woman, and she was smoking hot too. He didn't mind it at all, this would only up his chance of getting the position. He was someone who strived harder to impress someone, and made sure he did it without a distraction. The gaggle of girls who had accumulated in the stands no doubt to see the teams this year had arrived the same time he did. The people in the stands didn't make Al feel nervous, they made him feel extremely confident. He didn't know why but he spectators always gave him the opposite reaction to everyone else. He was someone who tried their hardest when everyone was to watch, and was better when someone was watching, any muggle who studied psychology would say that it was just his dominant response, but Al would say it was just him being him.
Though everyone around him was chattering, and comparing each other's skills and body structure and most importantly their build. He was silently weighing his chances in his mind, of course if he was father he'd probably say he had every chance of catching at least one position on the field. He had the build for a beater, he had the build for more then one position. Apart from seeker, he wasn't small or thin, and would never be able to speed up that fast. His strength was something he was absolutely sure about. He had the muscles, to hit a buldger, even though they weighed triple his weight. The other people who had come here to try out for beater where just as big as he was, though some of them could be questionable. This was his one chance to impress his head of house, and he was determined to do it right. ”Right, If I'm not impressed, you're not making the team, is that clear?” he gave a nod to make sure she understood, although she wasn't paying full attention to the him, just partly, since she was making sure everyone understood, but he wasn't one to speak out loud very much.
The box that was containing his potential victims was placed upon the ground, his hand was gripping onto the beaters bat, with amazing tension. It was his sign of nerves, the tighter his grip, the more nervous he was. His name was called and he pushed his way to the front of the group. He was the first to show her what he had got, and he was going to do it with every bit of energy he could muster. As soon as she told him his job, he had jumped onto his broom stick and got prepared for the buldger, protecting three dummies from one single buldger was easy, but as soon as she would release the second his job would be a lot more difficult. Not that he was too worried of course, he could handle a couple of buldgers, but keeping an eye on both would be a pain. The count down to the start of his trail was aired rather faintly, but he heard it just fine.
As Professor Avery called the last number, he watched the released buldger with all his might, though he saw it hurtling towards the three dummies he made no move, until it was just a couple of meters away, and could hear it hurtling towards him. With most of the energy he could muster he swung the bat with much relish, which knocked the buldger away from the dummies temporarily. He knew it would come hurtling back towards him, it was in a buldgers nature to play for no side. It would crash around the oval shaped quidditch pitch knocking as many players off as it could. There had been rare cases, when the buldger had been tampered with, but that was because dark things where happening at hogwarts, and a house elf was doing his best to protect a player. Although tampering with a buldger wouldn't of been his best way to protect the seeker, it had been the only way to scare him, scare him enough to leave the school. Although it didn't work very well.
As Albert was rounding the dummies, he was searching for the buldger which was indeed changing it's course and coming back, his one hand on the broom and the other on the bat, he kept his eye on the heavy ball, as it came back, he swung his bat around once more, although he had tried to very hard to whack the ball away from the dummy, he missed, but noticing his flaw, he span and chased after the buldger, before taking a whack at the ball once more. It narrowly missed the closest dummies head and soared across the pitch. He huffed, as he waited for the ball to come back.
