The carriage was being pulled by an invisible force, it was always like that, it was never pulled by a horse, or an animal of any sort. Just nothing was there, or so he saw that nothing was there, but anyone who had seen death could see the animals that pulled the carriages. Thestrals, bony animals, that had a tendency to be misjudged because they're different. Like many people, by people like Albert. He pulled himself into a carriage and waited for it to leave. Of course it wouldn't leave until the carriage was full or full as it felt. He was rapping his knuckles in an impatient manner, he wanted to be at the feast, now.
As soon as the threstral realized that no one was joining him, it started to pull him up to the Hogwarts castle. From the carriage you could see the black lake, and the boats that were filled with first years. He remembered when he was that young, he was terrified and almost so excited he could swim to the school. Although he didn't know what was in the water, so he decided against it. He was literally jumping for joy when he was being told he would be sorted into one of the four houses, of course he knew this since he was a pure blood boy. The carriage jolting to a stop awoke him from his nostalgia.
