hot summer day, a gentle breeze that feels alright,-- ALL ALONE, I CAN'T FEEL NO PAIN, ONLY STRAIN Shopping for school supplies was always fun in the summer holidays because there were always plenty of cute guys to oggle at. Yes it was perverted, but no one knew what was going on in Molly's mind. Sure there were some cute guys and she liked to look at them, but her thoughts weren't as disgusting as a lot of other peoples, she just liked attractive guys. It was like appreciating fine art. Only different.
Having watched a particularly nice guy in front of her, Molly steered herself away from him and the direction he was walking down Diagon Alley to go into Flourish and Blotts. She needed her books for the years and so slowly, made her way around the store, picking up bits and pieces from her booklist, checking it every now and then to make sure she had the right ones.
Eventually she made her way to the desk to pay, there was a line and Molly spent most of her time admiring the different guys that walked in and out. Yeah this was silly of her, but she was alone and had no friends with her to keep her distracted. What she was supposed to be doing was figuring out how she was going to balance friends and studying but truth was that was the furthest thing from her mind, at least at the moment. She'd get back on track eventually, and as she moved closer to the til, the more she started to pay attention to paying.
Opening up her bag and grabbing her out her purse she opened it up and got her money ready. Her books were tallied up and placed in two separate bags for her. She payed the money she owed and took her bags when they were handed over with the receipt. She stood to one side, out of the way of people passing in and out of the shopping and wanting to collect their things from the girl at the til and sorted out her bags, distributing the weight between both hands evenly before taking her first steps to leaving the shop, wondering what else she needed. Ah yes, that was everything!

With two heavy bags in hand - one containing her school robes, the other containing Potions ingredients - Phoebe entered Flourish and Blotts, blinking from the change in light. It was deliriously sunny outside, and the book shop was particularly dark in comparison. Squinting, she shuffled around the shelves to the counter, wondering when the huge yellow orbs in her line of vision would clear. She hated when that happened. She always thought she looked like a total idiot, pulling silly faces and trying to see properly.
Dodging her three year old sister, Harmony, who had followed her inside for an adventure away from their parents, who waited in the street, Phoebe let out a yelp of surprise as she stepped backwards to avoid stepping on her sister, only to bump into something. Or someone. Spinning around in quick succession, her bag of robes swung around with her, knocking another bag through the air. A bag that had seconds ago been in the seemingly capable hands of a red haired girl. Phoebe's blue eyes widened.
"Oh, Merlin! I'm so sorry!" she blurted out, trying to regain her balance and reaching out to grip the back of her baby sister's dress before she could wander off and get lost. "I'm so, so sorry. I didn't mean to do that." Well, obviously she didn't mean to do that, she was just turning into a blathering idiot with embarrassment. Glancing down at the dropped bag, she hoped there was nothing breakable inside. She would have to pay for it if there was. 'I'm gonna need that job, after all.' Maybe it was fate that she had been thinking about getting a job in Hogsmeade when she returned to school.

so no one told you life was gonna be this way, your job's a joke,- -- -- -- -- -- YOU'RE BROKE, YOUR LOVE LIFE'S DOA A knock and a stumble threw Molly off. For once Molly didn't fall over and land on her arse and another first - the tumble knock thing wasn't even her fault! She was getting good at this balancing thing, though she wasn't going to get too pleased with herself. She'd probably just fall over from turning around to take a step. It had happened before and she was sure it would happen again. Probably before Christmas knowing her luck.
Noticing that her hands were unbalanced, Molly looked down to see her apothocary bag on the floor. She quickly bent down and picked it back up as the girl that had stumbled into her started apologising. Molly took a quick peek inside her bag. Nothing broken, at least not as such, just the squished eyeballs and guts that she'd fallen on already today. Surely the poor girl couldn't be any more accident prone for another week? Well one would have thought but she probably would be. She had some of the worst luck sometimes, it was as though she'd been bitten by a mackled malaclaw and was in some serious need of some Felix Felicis good luck potion. If only she could get her hands on some of that ...
Molly looked up to the girl after closing her bag shut and smiled. "Oh hey, no. It's okay, everything's all right so that's good." Molly kept smiling. "I'm Molly, Molly Weasley, I'm the same year as you at school but Gryffindor. It's Phoebe, right?" She asked, balancing her bags once more, but this time without looking. Hopefully she wouldn't land on her butt again, she had a feeling that this day could only hold so many falls before she bruised or worse yet, broke her coccyx.
"I think we've had a few classes together over the years. How's your summer going?" Molly quickly took a sharp, deep breath. "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm probably keeping you from something." She said and she looked to the little girl and back to Phoebe. "Babysitting?" She asked. What was with her? Sometime Molly really couldn't just stop talking, she swore it was some kind of disease. Probably something to do with her brain and all her falling over. Actually if she had something wrong with her brain it would explain quite a bit about her.

Phoebe grimaced as the girl bent and picked up her bag, inspecting the contents. She almost didn't want to hear the verdict. "Oh hey, no. It's okay, everything's all right so that's good." A rush of relief washed over her, unknotting her stomach and causing her to visibly relax. The girl went on to introduce herself as Molly Weasley, and said that she recognized Phoebe from classes at school. She rambled quite a bit, her gaze turning to Harmony as she asked if Phoebe was babysitting.
Smiling patiently as she waited for the girl to finish, Phoebe allowed herself a moment to take in the red-head's face. She did look familiar. Especially her name, though she wasn't in Phoebe's circle of friends. She seemed nice enough though. "I'm Phoebe Rayne," she told her, "and yeah, you look familiar." With an embarrassed laugh, she tightened her grip on her baby sister, awkwardly trying to brush her golden hair from her face with her free hand, which proved difficult considering she held a heavy bag in it.
"No, this is my little sister," she said, nodding her head to the blonde, who was trying to pull her shoes off, for Merlin knew what reason. "Harmony, stop that!" she hissed, nudging the toddler. "She decided to follow me in here instead of waiting outside with our parents. She's a little rebel, aren't you?" Harmony gave her big sister a gap-toothed grin, and grabbed the nearest book she could reach off a bottom shelf. "Eebee, read me a stowy!" she demanded, waving the book in the air. "I will when we get home, but only if you're good," Phoebe promised, taking the book about Merfolk from her and putting it down on a higher shelf.
She would keep her promise. Phoebe hated letting the people she loved down, and often spent endless nights reading bedtime stories to Harmony and the others. It was one of her favourite things to do, though she would never admit it to the kids. Realizing that she hadn't responded to Molly's questions, she dragged her attention away from her sister. "My summer's basically been a whole lot of this," she told her, again, indicating Harmony. "I have ten brother's and sisters and most of them are younger than me, so it gets a bit hectic." She laughed softly. Phoebe was never sure whether to tell people just how big her family was. Some thought it a bad thing, or strange, and thus, were quite put off from speaking to her or having anything to do with her. There were the odd few that thought it was great, and then the majority just tended to shrug and move on, but there was always that chance that she would be looked at as though she were part of a freak show.
"How about you?" she asked Molly, deciding to leave buying her books for the moment. It would be rude to just start placing orders at the counter mid-conversation, wouldn't it? Or maybe Molly wouldn't mind her multi-tasking a little. If Phoebe remembered correctly, Molly was in Gryffindor, which would possibly make her more lenient with what she considered bad manners? Or would it? Phoebe didn't want to risk it.

so i told 'em where to stick the fancy label,- -- -- -- -- IT'S JUST ME AND THE ROAD FROM HERE Molly watched the little one messing around and taking off her shoes and wanting to be read a story. The little blonde one seemed absolutely adorable. Phoebe quickly put a stop to taking off shoes and grabbing books from shelves though and so Molly assumed it was a thing that kids just did. Heck she'd probably done it when she was a toddler too though she had no memory of it. Her earliest memory was her sister hitting her across the head with a muggle phone in grandpa Weasley's work shop. The man did like to tinker around in there and Molly just loved to watch an join in. Thankfully things had gotten a lot better with her sister. She didn't hit her with telephones any more. Just yelled at her sometimes when frustrated, though it didn't happen as often as it used to and Molly could remember a couple occasions of yelling at Lucy.
"Wow, big family, that must be pretty cool. My dad was one of seven but for me there's only me and my sister. We're twins so, same age. Only time I've ever had to look after her was when she had the flu." Molly did wonder sometimes what it was like to come from a big family with plenty of siblings around. She always thought her dad was lucky to have so many family members and it was great for her having so many aunts and uncles. She supposed you'd have a lot of fights though, but still, there'd always be support and respect when it was really needed.
"My summer's been pretty good." She said, nodding her head a little. "Dad took some time off work and we went on holiday for a while, so that was pretty cool." Molly's dad was a work sort of person, of course he loved his family very much, more than work, but work was a good escape for him and fun to boot. Molly wasn't too sure what exactly it was that he did, but his boss or partner or someone came over for dinner every now and then and she had to be on her best behaviour and always given a warning from her mother that she and her sister were not to fight. All though that was more of a warning for them when they were younger, she still decided to give it to them every time, just in case they'd forget.
Standing there with a smile, Molly felt a little awkward. She didn't know Phoebe all that well, just the she was in Hufflepuff, the same year as her and that she came from a massive family so Molly really wasn't sure what else they would talk about, however Molly was quite pleased with herself that she'd managed to balance her bags quite well and all though they were a little on the heavy side and the handles were digging into her hand a little, she figured she probably wouldn't fall over and make a fool of herself like she'd done in madam Malkin's. Merlin forbid she should ever run into the cute seventh year again.
