Lottie had gotten off the train to find there was somewhere else she had to go now. This is quite the journey she though in a somewhat frustrated way she just wanted to get to the school and sit down again. She walked over to the first Carriage she saw, it was one of the last ones but at least she would be on one of them. She climbed aboard to find there was infact someone else one the Carriage. "Do you mind if I join you?" she asked the person softly as she sat down on the seat.

For some reason she felt like the horseless carriages should unnerve her more then they did. She guessed after six years of seeing them they became an ordinary thing. Her friends had all gone a head and taken carriages, she didn't mind though for they promised to save her a seat with them in the Great Hall. She looked around at the last few straggling students, wondering if her brother was among them. He usually was.
She found her way into an empty carriage. She had just barely sat down when a soft voice asked to join her. "Not at all. Go right ahead, the company's welcome." she admitted with a welcoming smile. "Another year at Hogwarts, ready for it?" she asked attempting to make small talk.

Having fought her way off the train, and through the crowds at Hogsmeade station, Melana didn't care which carriage she ended up in, so long as it got her out of the chaos and up to the castle. Carefully climbing up the small step into the first one she found herself at, she pulled her small frame inside and found two other girls in there. She had never met either of them before, as far as she was aware, though that wasn't very difficult, considering she kept to herself, mostly.
Giving them each a polite smile as she sat down, Melana cleared her throat and focused out of the window. She wasn't really a fan of making small talk, and didn't consider being stuck in a carriage with someone good enough reason to befriend them. For all she knew, the blonde and the brunette could be friends already, and so wouldn't mind not having the extra person to converse with. Well, she could only hope.

Lottie smiled at the girl as she sat down. "As ready as I'll ever be I guess..." Lottie said with a smile, "Are you ready?" She glanced up from staring at her hands when a third girl joined the two and smiled simply. Lottie figured she should also probably make small talk, she wasn't very good at it but she had too, it was only polite right? Lottie, had decided on the train, that she should probably try and make some more friends that year. She didn't know who with yet. But she would at least try.
Lottie wasn't very good at making friends, it was difficult for her. Only because she wasn't a very socialable person, most of the time. Even though she tried.

She smiled at the blonde girl as she listened to her reply. Another female entered the carriage but it was too dark to recognize a face. She went to go answer the blonde girl when Delilah realized she didn't quiet know the answer. Was she ready? The carriage lurched forward with them inside, and it decided her answer. “This year's been six years in the making and the carriages are moving us towards the beginning of the year. Guess I kinda have to be ready for it,” she admitted with a soft laugh. Was she excited? Yes, but she knew the sooner this year started, the sooner the end of the year would come and the end of her Hogwarts days.
Their new occupant was quiet, and an awkward silence fell over the carriage. She wasn't one much for quiet, so she quickly tried to strike up a conversation with the two. ”Do either of you think any of the first years will fall in the lake?” she asked curiously as she peered out the dirty window at the first years beginning to clamor into boats at the lake. It wasn't uncommon when one of them did.

She sat peacefully, listening idly to their conversation, when the brunette asked a question that blatantly applied to Melana, aswell. 'Drat.' Well, so much for staying out of it. Slowly turning her gaze to the two girls, she observed them one by one for a moment. The dark haired one was obviously in her final year, judging from her comments. And the blonde seemed to be around Melana's age, if she had to guess, with a musical French accent. A transfer student.
Returning to her position watching the castle close in a little closer, Melana considered her answer. "Well," she finally piped up. "I don't know about that, but there are a few spells I know that could toss a few of them in from here." She pondered her words for a minute. She could see the glistening lake as they rode around it, taking a much quicker route to the school. It wouldn't be difficult to shoot a hex or two across to the boats from their current position, though it was entirely possible that she would get caught and end up in detention on her first day back at school. Detention was something Melana had never had before. Keeping a clean record was very important to her future.
Sending a small smile at the girls, she shrugged her shoulders. "Not that I would," she told them quietly, making sure they knew she had no intentions of doing such a thing. Sure, the thought entertained her, but she didn't want them thinking she was a horrible person for thinking such things. Though, if she was at home, and old enough to perform magic legally, she wouldn't have hesitated.
